Brown spots on tan.
Stretches her long neck
for food.
Runs like the wind on
spindly legs.
Winks her lovely silken
eyelashes at you.
Flirt !
Orange and black
Prowls through the jungle
underbrush.
Gleams her brilliant eyes
in the night.
You would like to stroke
her fur,
but watch out :
sharp teeth !
Bold ebony
and stark white
moss on
cold feet,
where he
hatches eggs
to help
mom out.
Wears
a tuxedo
like a
real gent
but waddles
like your
favorite
wind-up toy.
The winter chill has long set in
The warmth of spring seems fleeting
But hundreds gather cold to the skin
For the Groundhog's yearly greeting
With hats and scarves and mitts of wool
We eagerly await his coming
Hot chocolate keeps our tummies full
But our toes are quickly numbing
It's a cloudy day, no shadows around
The sun is still in hiding
The crowd sits still, there's not a sound
We patiently wait for his tidings
At last his nose appears at the door
His whiskers poking through
We all know what we're waiting for
An early spring, and skies of blue
He whispers something, we cannot hear
But he's gone as quick as a sprinter
To the back of his den he disappears
Hey little mean dog
who lives down the street
don't snap at me
you might tear my pantlegy
hey little mean dog
who lives down the street
if you tear my pantlegy
i'll smite you with my cane
hey little mean dog
who lives down the street
if i lay down my cane
will you come and be my friend
hey little doggie
who lives down the street
i see you heard my plea
and you'll be friends with me
hey little doggie
who lives down the street
it's nice to be friends with you
my cane now lies in the street
Think of me
and how it would be
if I had my very own time machine.
The first place I'd go and want to be.....
is a kingdom with a King and Queen.
Then, I would go to the land of the DINOSAURS.
So you see, there really is a time machine-----
the library with books galore,
and the future is up to you and me.
Once upon a time,
long long ago
and far far away,
there lived a frog.
No wicked witch had
turned him from a
prince into a frog.
He just thought so.
In a castle also far away,
there dwelt a beautiful princess
who longed for a prince to rescue her
from a real wicked stepmother.
Now the princess had heard
the story, if one kissed
a frog, he would
turn into a handsome prince.
So one night when the wicked stepmother
forgot to lock the princess in the tower,
she crept out to the lily pond
and grabbed a frog.
Racing back to her dank room,
the princess shut the door,
closed her eyes and kissed the frog,
Have you ever held a kitten,
or a puppy wrapped in fur?
Did you ever let them kiss you,
I know you did, I'm sure.
Have you ever watched a kitty play,
with a ball of squiggly yarn,
or listened to his warm little purrrrr,
when you cuddled him in your arms?
Little puppies wag their tails
and lick your chin and face.
They know you'll always love them,
although mistakes are made.
They will always love you
no matter what you say,
they'll wag their tail and scamper,
and always want to play.
Remember little children,
love all of God's small creatures,
even little Sidney Snails.
